Making the most of YOUR stuff

This is breaking the rules a bit cause she's a former client, but I can't help it because her services are truly a gift to anyone who hires her and that's what this blog is about - people who offer AMAZING services.

SPACEbycarrie, run by Carrie Shaltz, is a combination of space styling, space organizing and "decorating" using YOUR things to make you love your space more. Carrie is an uber talented lady with a Master's degree in architecture as well as an incredibly creative mind with experience in set design, photography and mastering just about anything she sets her mind to achieve. The best part about her work is that her clients are psychologically happier in their spaces when she completes her services. But then again, it's their home and their things - just through the eyes and skills of an expert.

So, you want to see pictures, right? Really, you should check out her website for complete before and afters with explanations but here are a few-

How to Stay Sane When Work Gets Nuts

Easy answer - EXERCISE! Here's a CNN article that proves it!  Not only does exercise help you physically but it also helps keep you mentally in check.

After years of working at Pop Physique mastering barre method, this amazing teacher, friend and inspiring female, Miz Shawana, has ventured on her own to teach the world how to stay fit effectively and keep it fun all while enabling her students to walk away happier. She essentially brings joy to each person who attends her class.

Check out her website and I strongly encourage you to take a class with her. I guarantee some soreness with a smile.

We All Need Friends in Sweet Places

Marian Mar is who I'm talking about! Marian is the dope a** pastry chef I worked with at CAFE at The LINE Hotel. She comes from the early days of  Momofuku Milk Bar - Christina Tosi even credits her amazingness in the notes in her cookbook.  She's an incredibly gifted pastry chef able to make decadent desserts but also add fun playful twists to otherwise normal pastries - I WAS LEGITIMATELY ADDICTED TO HER BROWNIES.

Marian left full-time work to have a darling daughter but eventually her desire to feed people delicious treats came back when she opened Crumpets Bakeshop with another amazing pastry chef (and beautiful cake-artist) Donna Feoranzo.  Crumpets is an awesome bakery that will make you basically whatever you want. They have a large array of offerings but if you want something customized...like my dear friend who wanted a "rainbow cookie cake" for her wedding, they can make it. And it will be OUTSTANDING!

So there you are, now you have a friend who can make you just about the BEST desserts in the world. And yes, Thanksgiving is happening soon and yes they can make you desserts for that and your guests will be floored. Just give Marian & Donna a few days heads up. See more about them here!

**my phone got stolen that night so I only have one pic but trust me, everyone was talking about that cake!!

The most delicious brownies I've ever had!! A little uncooked, so extra chewy and really rich in flavor.

DJ's are Everyone's Friends

I've always been a fan of music and truly think having a DJ can do wonders to build incredible energy and atmosphere to parties, events and just about anywhere you want to make people happy. While producing cultural programing at POT Lobby Bar at The LINE Hotel I had a super rewarding chance to work with amazing DJs. Roy first connected me with DJ ZO and KCRW's Anthony Valadez, then from there it was like a little community of connectors.

Below is a list of a few that I worked with the most. I wanted to give them a shout out because not only are they  kick-a** beat makers, they are also truly good human beings. Like - trustworthy, "good looking out" people. See list below (in no particular order) and hit 'em up or ask me more about them. You won't regret hiring any one of them!!

Who are these #CLASSICFRIENDS OF WHICH YOU SPEAK

When I meet someone I think is uber talented, I immediately start thinking of ways I can work with them more or how I can share them with others who may be looking. I think that's what lead me to what I do now - marketing. With this said, starting today I'm launching a series called #classicfriends where I'll feature a strongly endorsed talent whom I've worked with and I highly recommend. Enjoy and seriously, ya'll should work with these people!!

Since I've already used her pics on here a number of times, I'll start with Audrey Ma. Audrey is one of my favorite food photographers EVER. Her ability to bring her own style and creativity while still maintaining whatever brand look the business is aiming to achieve is priceless. I recommend her for pretty much any shoot! Check out a few food photos here or on her site (you may even see my little hands in some shots:) YAY Audrey!! I mean, could she make food look more delicious?!!
